Bank of Montreal anger

I posted before about how infuriating it is to deal with the Bank of Montreal. I have since closed all of my accounts with them. Still, however, I have two business Mastercards. And that continually drives me crazy, too! The statements either do not arrive or they arrive late.

Today, for example, February 10th. Statement arrives by mail. It is postmarked February 6th. It was printed (they say) on January 28th. My bill is due Feb14! The buggers!

Is this a deliberate ploy to maximize interest penalties?

I think Royal Bank credit cards are in order.

Why don't you have your cc statements sent to you electronically? Bank statements too, for that matter.

  2. Bank statements I can easily check online. And manipulate online (especially since I changed from BMO to Royal Bank). Big difference!

I have spent most of my life at the income level of dirt and have been treated as such by institutions. Don't like it when a big institution abuses my dignity for no good reason.

From printing of invoice to payment requirement date:
    Shaw Cable 28 days
    Enmax Power 32 days
    Rogers 27 days
    Telus 27 days
    Mastercard 18 days! Unreasonable.

Your question is fair, modern, efficient, and practical. Rather deflating, too. Still, I change poorly with the times. Never had a reliable printer (actually until just a month or so ago), don't like relying on the computer (I go many months not even connected ... esp in summer), use manual and visual accounting practices (ie I like their mailed, color invoices ... good for identification), and other trivial excuses.

Maybe I am just too old for change. Too poor for moderninity. To hateful of corporations.

Still, seems to me that the payment period is way damn short. There must be other people in the country (poor, old, or just stubborn in the old ways) who are being exploited(?) by this short payment period.

I wonder how long the Royal Bank's is?

  3. I like paper bills, sort of. Especially since it's hard or impossible to get really old statements, so online services almost expect people to print at home. But I get all but a couple of my bills online, and pay all of them online or by phone. It really is a lot easier than writing cheques, and mailing them.

  4. I do pay my bills online. Even the Mastercards. Would be nice to receive a timely statement.

  6. Thanks Magic but ... no good. This is the message I get:
    ERROR
    * The card number you entered is not valid for use on the Mosaik Self-Serve Site.

No end of needless frustration with these BMO assholes.
