A while ago I was going to post on the birthing experience but opted not to as it was bound to get the backs up of some people. Well, maybe I will drift a little closer to the topic this time.
Back in the old days of thirty’ish years ago there was an underground movement, a sub-culture really, of Alternative-health paradigm people. People seeking nature cures to acute and chronic health problems would follow the whisper network until a competent nature-cure practitioner was locally located. Of course, nature-cure practitioners operate pretty much in the open now. And so-called American-styled entrepreneurial “Naturopaths” have exploited and usurped the market as can only a professional business construct … just as the idiot medicos have done.So it is nice to see a groundswell of populist-driven natural birthing re-emerging into a proper place in the defining of real women activities. No ultra-sounds. No internals. No DNA testing. No medico-approved birthing practice. No nothing, in fact, except at-home birth in the company of women. It is nice to see women reclaiming and redefining the non-medical experience of birth.
Gotta respect women giving the finger to arbitrary authority. Gotta respect women redefining womanhood, birthing, and counter-cultural evolution.
Want a natural birth? A birth at home? An instrument- and drug-free birth? Then whisper to a friend, discover the culture, learn and take charge of your birth as only a real woman may.The faux natural birthing of today is rather sad to witness. Loss of control to medico influence is rife. Refusal of ultra-sound, a wise decision as it is not proven to improve birth outcomes; or refusal of infection-producing internal examination, guaranteed to make medico-trained personnel make a psycho note on your chart; or acceptance of the birthing-centre natural birth, making little impact on c-section rates -- all conspire to battle medicalization's influence of removing from nature the birthing experience.
Natural birthing is not the only way to birth but it is a way of birthing that I just have to respect. Good on ya.
Here is to real women making a statement about the meaning of life. I salute you.Recommend to those in the know.

Some people feel they have to control the thinking of others or it just doesn't count. Such as:

Gotta feel sorry for them.
