Doomed

Message to Psychols .... for God's sake, do not buy the game, Hearts of Iron: Doomsday! I am hopelessly immersed in it. It is all consuming. No time for anything else. I am now playing as Japan (a major power). It is March 30, 1938 -- two years of slugging it out with Nationalist China and I finally have it on the ropes. What a horrible war that must have been in China.

Doomsday is the best grand strategy game EVER. World War II themed (my favorite).

Buy the game. Get practiced. And we can multiplayer over the internet. Come on ... admit it, you could have won WWII if you had been in charge; right? The stupid game is remarkably accurate.

Help. Help me, please.

Doomsday

Not posting. This is why (pic) ...

The game is Hearts of Iron: Doomsday. Remember, I did give you all notice. I am prone to game immersion. Stayed up until 1:30 AM last night. Game addiction. I am too old for this, and stress! Good game.

I am still battling out World War II with my new grand strategy game. Playing Italy this go around. 1942, Feb and I have secured Northern Africa and freed the Middle East from French domination. Hard, hard going as the Italians do not have the industrial might and populist will to support foreign military adventurism. Always precariously poised in relation to the French, British, and Yugoslavs. Good thing the Americans are not in the war, yet. Not a country I would relish playing again.

This grand strategy WWII game is everything anyone could want who thinks they would have done something differently in WWII. In a previous game I played Germany and concentrated on invading England. It worked! But I had so much invested in planes and ships that the Russians simply steamrolled over me in 1943.

Another time I played Canada ... and concetrated on invading Venezuela. Took me till 1945. A diversion that allowed the Soviet Union to occupy all Europe except for the UK. Then I invaded the soft under-belly of Europe, and with the Americans drove deep into Russia taking Moscow, allowing the Allies to win a decisive victory.

PR and Independents

I like to disappear come December and concentrate on really important matters. No, Herbinator is not really Santa Claus in disguise. But recently someone mentioned that Simple Proportional Representation could never be supported because there is no roll for independent MPs within it.

Well, there isn't supposed to be a role for Independents. Independents are as useless as tits on a boar ... and in the current system there is always the possibility that some idiot independent will fell a government. Falling governments is the roll of a political party.

My opinion is that if you want to preserve the roll of independent members of parliament then don't bother reforming the electoral system. All this convoluted diddling required to bring in Proportional Representation (PR) and yet preserve the worst of the worst is why PR has not been accepted anywhere within Canada, yet. Nothing stinks higher than political diddlings with a political system.

Keep it Simple; keep it Proportional; and keep it Representational.
